Emily Timco Hello everyone! My name is Emily and I've dabbled in book reviews in the past, but now I'm looking to take it much more seriously. I'm an avid reader, and I enjoy a lot of different genres of books. Lately I've been into psychological thrillers, Sci-fi, dystopia YA, etc. I really love all different genres.

I'm excited to have some great bookish discussions in this group!

Jim Lowe Hi everyone, my name is Jim, and I live in Worcester in England. I have worked – and still do - for a well-known bookseller and newsagent for the last 40 years.

I am married to my wife, Cathy, for 34 years and have two grown-up daughters.

My eldest, Katie, is a traditionally published author in many countries, with Harper-Collins in the UK, and St Martins Press in the USA.

My youngest daughter is a talented singer-songwriter, who on her CV can put that she has written and performed a song for The Queen and Prince Philip!

I wrote a lot of dark poetry in my youth and in later life turned my hand to writing novels. I wrote a series called the New Reform Quartet from 2014 – 2018, but only self-published the first in the series, New Reform, in August 2019.

The writing was one thing, but recording the audiobooks was quite another!

The second book, THE ODC (The Online Death Cult) is due to be released in February.

Thank you for letting me join your group.

Christopher C. Fuchs Lords of Deception by Christopher C. Fuchs

Hello Everyone.

I’m Chris, author of the Earthpillar world of books and short stories (half-tales, I call them), which are set on an Earth that evolved differently. New continents and seas, dozens of distinct societies, and materials like some metals have alternative properties. The world of Earthpillar spans from prehistory to the steam age, but all are connected in some way.

I call my writing “epic adventure” because it has flavors of epic fantasy, action & adventure, historical fiction, and steampunk, but lacks magic or mythical creatures. I enjoy blending adventure and political intrigue, fictional continents and materials, and customized medieval and early modern technology. I like to think of Earthpillar as a mix of the swashbuckling adventure of Dumas, the depth of Tolkien, and the character struggles of Martin, with my own intense interest in custom materials, machines, and cultures.

As you can see on my Goodreads bookshelf, my personal interests are broad, from medieval history and philosophy, to astronomy and particle physics. I take an interdisciplinary approach to writing that is influenced by these topics and extensive travel, degrees in history and political science, and a touch of engineering experience.

As the owner of Loremark Publishing, I work with freelance editors, proofreaders, and illustrators to bring my novels and other writings to life. I opted for this middle route between traditional and self publishing because I wanted to ensure high quality books but also retain full control of my writing career. And now, after about a decade of writing and editing, I’m in the middle of a “rapid release” of three novels.

I have a Goodreads giveaway ending on January 7. The novel was named a "Top 5 novel of the year" for 2019 by Liviu Suciul, former co-editor of Fantasy Book Critic. See why Kirkus Reviews and others have compared this epic fantasy debut’s depth and interesting characters to Game of Thrones. Click here for your chance to win 1 of 3 author-autographed paperbacks! https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...

Thanks for reading!

message 3621: by Leon (new)

Leon Stevens Hello Everyone,

So many groups on Goodreads and I just found this one. I am a new author and have recently self-published my first book of poetry, Lines by Leon: Poems, Prose, and Pictures in January 2020. It is an eclectic mix of poetry and short stories that address the subjects of loss, struggle, human behaviour, and environment. Many pieces are humorous and lighthearted with illustrations.

I have my book trailer, free sample eBook, information on my funding campaign, plus "The Miniscules" (the extremely minor Instagram sensation) on my website.

Hope to put up an author page on here next.

Cheers,

Leon

message 3628: by Billie (new)

Billie Turknett Hi. My name is Billie Turknett. I read all of the time. I have severe anxiety so my headphones are always on my head and I'm always focused on a book.
I am bored easily and find that I get too bored after about the 3rd book in a series except for a few like Charlie Davidson and The Elemental assassin. I can't seem to get into the Mercy Thompson series or even Magic Bites. They drag to me.
I am looking for Fantsy/romance/paranormal/vampire/guild type books. My favorite is assassins.

message 3629: by Monique (new)

Monique Gliozzi Hi Jinks, I used to love Enid Blyton in my younger years.
I have written 3 fast paced books to suit those busy people who love to read but lack the time. Foresight, Hunted (a follow up to the first) and now Vestige - a ghost story.

Feel free to check out my website to learn more about me as a new author from Australia and my work.

message 3633: by Emily (new)

Emily Hello everyone! My name is Emily and I’m from Texas. I currently work in a library as a teen librarian. My favorite genre is suspense/thriller but lately I’ve wanted to branch out and discover new types of books. I particularly would like to explore more YA as that would help me recommend more titles at work, and I’m very inexperienced in that area. However, I’m open to all. I have never reviewed books before but am really excited to try!

Ryan Krol Hello! I am new to the group, and a first time self-published author. Thank you for having me.

I released Syndrome on paperback on January 14, 2020, and then the Kindle version on January 17. I’m already writing my next book, which will be a novella.

I love writing. I’ve been doing it since I was in elementary school. I used to work in film and did some sports writing. Now I’m doing what I always wanted to do: write books.

When it comes to reading, I actually prefer audiobooks, just because that’s the best way I can retain the information. Plus, I’m always doing something productive, so audio allows me to multitask, even when I’m trying to go to sleep.

Here are some links:

Syndrome is available in both paperback and Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/Syndrome-Ryan-...

Syndrome by Ryan Krol

I hope you have just as much fun reading it as I did writing it.

Thank you,

Ryan Krol

Ramona Nehring-Silver Hello everyone,
I'm Ramona Silver and new to Goodreads, so just beginning to find my way around on this site. I live just south of the Yukon border in northern British Columbia.

My first book as an Indie author has just come out. The Ghost of Walhachin - is a historical fiction for 8 - 12 yr old's. A ghost, time travel, and a unique quest form the fictional story that leads the main character to discover the interesting history of Walhachin, a small orchard town in central British Columbia.

I'm now focused on scrambling up this marketing learning curve, while two other stories are percolating in the back of my mind.

More info on the book and the town can be found on my web site: https://www.ramonanehringsilver.com

I look forward to being a part of this group
