In nonfiction, I gravitate toward history, travel writing, memoirs, essays, pop psychology, and "society and culture" type books. In the guilt department, I wish I read more philosophy and politics and current events and pop science!When wearing my writer hat, I've focused almost exclusively the past 7-8 years or so on writing historical novels with magical realist elements, and I'm excited to be making my debut soon as "real" novelist with a book coming out from a small publisher in February 2020!
