S.K. Brown Hi! I’m Suzanne Brown. I’m a new, self published author and I publish under the name S. K. Brown. I live near Tacoma, Washington. I write romantic suspense/thrillers. I just published my first three books which are all in a series. I just started my ninth book last month. I’m new to the book promotion scene and I think I like the writing part a lot better!

I love to read a wide range of books from the classics to spy thrillers to romance, etc. I’m so excited about finding this group! It’s so nice to have a place to make connections.

Rita Chapman Welcome Suzanne. I think we all like the writing more than editing or promoting! Congratulations on your series and almost nine books! You have been busy.

message 3457: by C.J. (new)

C.J. Zahner Welcome and Ditto, I HATE marketing. And I especially dislike begging for reviews, which I think is just as awful as the marketing part.

But, the key is getting a few books out. Looks like you've done that so good luck!

Crysta Levere Hey,

My names Crysta. I am a new author. I love reading and writing about dark and light subject matter in romance, fantasy of all kinds, the pleasures in life, the struggles, life philosophies, and anything of feeling. Nothing really interesting to say about my life other than that :)

Christine V Medina hello everyone!!! my name is Christine, I've been on Goodreads since 2010 even though I haven't been active for a long while now due to work and school. I have started reading again and I'm setting foot in the world of reviewing books. I'm hoping all goes well. hopefully, I get a chance to support new authors and new incoming authors with their work.

message 3466: by Joyce (new)

Joyce Major Hello,
I'm an avid reader of fiction since the first day I walked into a library and fell in love with the shelves of books there. As an author of a travel memoir and now a middle grade book, I read that genre as well. I pulled from my volunteer travels to Indonesia to write about orangutans in adventure format. Hope to keep readers on the edge of their seat. When I'm not writing, I'm taking care of my grandkids or practicing yoga or rowing crew on Lake Union here in Seattle. Looking forward to this group.

message 3467: by Juan José (new)

Juan José Díaz Téllez Hi!
Juan José Díaz Téllez here. I'm a spanish writer. My genres usually go from urban fantasy to paranormal thriller, but I also write for children. By now, my books are only written in spanish (I had a bad experience with a poor translation of one of my books, so next time I want to do things better). One of my books, Decimas, is nominated for the Ignotus 2019 prizes, in the category of Best Anthologies.

If you are able to read spanish, this is the list of my books in Goodreads:
URBAN FANTASY / THRILLER / TERROR
Raíz
El Juego del Diablo: Una novela de suspense y terror psicológico
Tabula Rasa
Ellos nos quieren a todos
Décimas
Inmóviles
CHILDREN
Julieta en busca del Arcoíris
Sandy, un unicornio entre dos mundos

Is great to be here!

message 3468: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen Schmitt Just now getting up to speed on getting my book out! The title comes from a Willa Cather quote: "(t)he best that can happen is to fulfill the dreams of one's youth." It's about when I decided to ride my horse from coast to coast with my Boxer dog, and what happened afterward. If you'd like to read and review it as an ebook or audiobook, please contact me at https://www.thegrandtrek.com/pages/co.... I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it - a good deal of humor, some nostalgia, and touches of terror and romance. message 3470: by June (new)

June Ahern Thank you. I'm new to the group but not to writing. Four books, two non-fictions on the paranormal and parapsychology subjects. Two novels: both set in Scotland and then move to San Francisco, California. Immigrants, family and how it changes over the years, and the other, Summer of Love the usual sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll with lies, betrayal and murder. Next project: sequel to one novel, another book video and recently optioned one book for a film.

message 3471: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen Schmitt Thanks for the welcome! Interested in hearing about book marketing , as I am just now learning how to promote my book, The Best That Can Happen: The Grand Trek. I'm sure this group has lots of ideas!

message 3472: by Carole (new)

Carole Brungar Hi,
I just found this group!
I'm a New Zealand novelist, almost finished my 4th novel. I have written one women's fiction and my last two books have been love stories set around the Vietnam War. When I speak to groups I tell them I'm on a mission to get men reading love stories under the guise of war stories, LOL and strangely enough I have had amazing feedback from men who have loved the stories!

I love writing about the 60s and 70s and especially love writing stories set during the war from a NZ perspective.

You can find me on Facebook and here on Goodreads or my website is: carolebrungar.com

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Ramla Zareen Ahmad Hello everyone,

Hope all is well at your end :-)

I joined the group a few years ago, but it's been a while since I was active here, so I thought it might be a good idea to re-introduce myself. This way I could perhaps catch up with old friends and get connected with the new members :-)

My name is Ramla Zareen, and I'm an avid reader of mystery and romance books, these days leaning more towards light-hearted contemporary romances.

Some of my favourite romance authors include: Judith McNaught, Julie James, Robin Bielman, Jennifer Shirk, Kristan Higgens, Rachael Anderson, Ashley Mallory, Zeenat Mahal, Adite Banerjie, Sapna Bhog, Mahi Jay, Shilpa Suraj, Ruchi Vasudeva . . . and the list goes on, lol.

One great news at my end is that I'm now also a self-published author on Amazon :-)

My book is titled The One for Me The One for Me by Ramla Zareen Ahmad

It's a light-hearted, romantic fiction, set in modern-day Pakistan.

I love connecting with fellow book-lovers, so please feel free to send me a friend request if you like :-)

Thank you!

message 3489: by R.J. (new)

R.J. Hanson Hello everyone. I'm R.J. Most of my current reading is audiobooks (I hope that's not cheating). I basically have 3 jobs, so it's hard to carve out time for something more traditional. I love Stephen King, R.A. Salvatore, Michael Crichton, and J.R.R. Tolkien. I am also an author and have two epic fantasy books, Roland's Path and Roland's Vow, out now with a 3rd coming next month. I look forward to hearing your opinions and views on different books and characters! Thanks for the add.

River Smith Hi All,

My name is River Smith and I'm the author of the book ''Like She Is In Him'', an arresting collection of radical, lyric, and performative poetry!

https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...

I invite you to enter my giveaway for a chance to win a signed copy of my book. Four days still left. Don't miss this opportunity!

I am also interested in a review exchange. Contact me in private for that.

Best regards,

message 3496: by Colin (new)

Colin Lloyd Thanks for the warm welcome Tana,

My name's Colin but people call me Col.

I'm new to Goodreads and have recently joined because I'm about to self-publish my first novel, which is all a little daunting. It's a financial thriller - my wife tells me that's an oxymoron but I've worked in financial markets all my life and you're always advised to write about what you know.

I try to read thrillers an historical fiction when I have time, but I write a macroeconomic newsletter which involves a lot of 'that sort' of reading so my consumption of other my peers is disappointingly low.

Anyway, it's great to join the group. I'll be a little coy to begin with, I feel rather like it's my first day at school!

Therefore, hello everyone, just for the moment I'll just 'smile and wave.'

Col
