Segilola Salami Hello everyone,

I'm Segilola Salami, author, blogger, freelance content writer and host of The Segilola Salami Show Podcast, pheww what a mouthful

I write both fiction and non-fiction children's books based on Yoruba culture and myths.

On my blog, you will be able to read extracts of a variety of books by other authors, you will find out random thoughts going through my head about being a mother, lifestyle posts etc etc

I try to earn my daily bread as a freelance content writer. It helps me have the perfect work/life balance as I can do mother-daughter things with my child and not just leave her to be looked after by someone else from 8am - 6pm Mon - Fri and be too tired to do anything with her over the weekend.

I am the host and producer of The Segilola Salami Show, a podcast show held in a virtual cafe. My guests and I talk about books and publishing and marketing and they also try to inspire and motivate the listeners by sharing how they overcame challenges in their lives to get them to the point they were at the time the episode was recorded.

Over the last year, I've found that I truly enjoy helping others. I find that the more I help others, the more I develop myself as a person and as a professional.

If you feel that you need help with something, please do not hesitate to drop me a line via my contact form. I may not be able to help but I would check to see if I can signpost you to someone else that may be able to do so.

Authors: If you need an extra hand in promoting your books, you can do so directly on my blog by clicking here. Just following the on-page instructions and your post will get sent out automatically to my Twitter and Facebook pages as well as my blog subscribers.

Book lovers: If you would like to discover new books, you can read extracts from a range of different books via my blog's Sunday Snippet series.

Everyone: I invite you to please listen to my podcast The Segilola Salami Show. I'm sure the guest authors would love to know what you think about what they had to say on the show. On some episodes, I host giveaways for the guests.

Appear as a guest on The Segilola Salami Show: The Segilola Salami Show has a number of slots open for guests to join in in the virtual cafe. You can be an author, book blogger, editor, publisher or just someone who has a story to tell and has read a book at one point or the other.

The aim of the show is to be a discovery platform for books and authors as well as being educative, informative, inspirational and motivational in an entertaining way.

To find out what other guests think of the show, please click here.

If you feel the show meets your needs, please click here now to book your slot via my online calendar.

Phewww, that's it for now. Thanks for reading my long introduction to the end.

Best wishes,

Segilola Salami

C.J. Zahner I've been here a few weeks now and have a question. Which are the most valuable conversations to follow here for authors? Thanks in advance for any advice you may offer.

message 3114: by Alan (new)

Alan Hi all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

message 3115: by Rita (new)

Rita Chapman Hi C.J. and Alan. That's a good questions C.J. and it depends on what you are interested in - meeting other authors, tips on writing, publishing, marketing, promoting, grammar. There are threads for all of these. Turn on Notifications to see what people are talking about and pick out the ones that interest you.

message 3116: by M.T. (new)

M.T. Michael Hey there everyone! I'm new to goodreads and honestly, I'm new to the book writing world. My hope in joining this group is to help everyone and be helped by anyone at all. Quick question, does anybody have any recommendations in self-development or business books?

message 3117: by Lorena (new)

Lorena Hi Everyone. I'm usually quite a hermit, door closed, writing, and just got off a binge of 3 books in 3 years. But a little voice inside me says it's time to poke my head out of my writer's room and say hi to my fellow writers. Smell the roses. How are you doing? What are you reading. I am truly interested in finding out if other writers change what they are reading as the idea for their next book comes about. I've been living in the 19th century for years and have narrowed my reading list to historical narratives. Find them so absorbing I find it hard to look around and realize those times, those people, those forests and dirt lanes are gone forever. Except in books, including mine.

message 3118: by Paul (new)

Paul Dixon Hi everyone!

I'm Paul and my new children's novel Danny's Fantasticani Christmas Adventure is about to be released (2 Nov on Kindle and 9 Nov in paperback) which I'm really excited about.

It's my 3rd novel but my first aimed at a younger age group, so I'm nervous but happy at the same time as it's been a real labour of love.

R. Otic Hi, I'm an Italian male author. Two years ago, on summer, I wrote an erotic romance with the love of my life just for fun. Then we decided to publish it using a pen name - mine is R. Otic, her is P. Leasure - and it was an extraordinary success! After a brief experience with the leading Italian publishing consortium, (Rizzoli-Mondandori), we decided to return to our independent status and requested early resolution of the contract to be free to sell it abroad. Now our story is professionally translated in English, and... lost in the ocean of Amazon.com...
I'm totally new here on Goodreads, so feel free to add me to your friends!
Here the cover of our novel:
THE GIFT An Education in Pleasure by R. Otic

Marra Roscoe Hi,

My name is Marra, I'm a new author of a children's rhyming picture book "Tressa and the Rain". I'm also new to Goodreads, sort of. Apparently I became a member of Goodreads in 2011 and spent one day on the site. I do not remember this but I should have spent more. I have no idea how anything works here. I'm glad to be anyone's friend.

Maja - BibliophiliaDK ✨ Hi everybody,

mi name is Maja and I am from Denmark. I have loved reading for as long as I can remember, and usually my friends and family get tired of hearing me going on and on about books. Therefore I have recently decided to start a book to be able to connect with others who love books as much as myself. But I also have an ulterior motive - to turn more people into book lovers!

I hope that some of you will help me in this mission - either by following me and spreading the message or by giving m contructive criticism on how to improve my blog.

message 3139: by D.L. (new)

D.L. Fletcher Hi All!

My name is Deann Fletcher A.K.A D.L Fletcher. I am the author of two self published books, and have been dabbling with blogging.

I have an infatuation with pens and paper - all pens, ballpoint, calligraphy, coloured, doesn't matter I love them all. I am equally infatuated with paper - note pads, white, thin, thick, paper in leather covers...You get the point.

My dream was to write my story and get a physical copy of it, and I did it! I love books. I always loved reading, but my passion is writing. It still surprises me how I can have a direction and all of a sudden I find myself surprised by a character I never envisioned, or a dilemma I never saw coming.

Anyway, now that my dream of writing a book and holding it has come true I am just biting my nails as I stay out there for others to discover hoping for the best. It has been a self strengthening adventure I'll tell you that much. I guess I don't really have to though as you all either were, or are in my shoes. I can't be the only one that was or is scared to let others find your work.

Well...that's me. Hi again :)
