Claire King Hi Everyone,
I've just discovered this website and I love it! I've always been an avid reader and will try almost anything. I've just published my first women's fiction novel on Kindle, it's called Skyecliffe. I'm really nervous about it and hope people like it

James Nowlan I'm originally from Chicago but I haven't been there for a long time. I lived in Paris for a while and I worked as a security guard in the housing projects. My latest work, Killebrity, is about a cannibalistic cult of celebrity stalkers. I'm looking for people who want to participate in affiliate marketing. You'll earn $1.00 for each title sold.

John Matsui I'm John Matsui. I've been a professional writer (journalist/PR guy) for decades but just started writing novels last year. I have two out - both fast-paced thrillers with a paranormal bent. Even though my thrillers feature a vampire of sorts (Late Bite) and a chef who hunts down terrorists (Gravity Games) both books contain a larger world message that will get more apparent in their sequels. If you'd like to read Late Bite, it's temporarily available as a free download at: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view... until Nov. 20 if you enter coupon code: JT23A
Gravity Games goes on free download days only on Nov. 19 and 20 at amazon via: http://www.mh99.com

Shana Chartier Hello everyone! I'm Shana and my debut novel, Past Lives, was published just last week! I have a small publisher, so I've taken it upon myself to market and make a lot of my own connections. I'd love to hear what everyone's marketing experiences are like! I've bought small ad campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, and now here. So far my best luck has been with Facebook, but I don't know if likes are really translating into sales.

Anyway outside of the nasty business part of writing, I love YA and romance, but I particularly enjoy a paranormal or sci fi bend. My current book is all about the reincarnations of my main character and how she comes to relive the same downfalls in every life. Here's hoping for wild success for all of us!!Past Lives

Addicted2Books Hi! I'm a new blogger. I love romance/mystery/young adult etc. I love writing, and reading. I've read so many books this year, and I've had so much to say about the books after I'm done. I thought about it for awhile, and decided I should start a blog. So here I am! I'm always open to new friends, and new ideas!

What books have you been reading Jane? Any recommendations? :)

message 264: by D.L. (new)

D.L. Blanchard Hi, I'm Dawn using the pen name D L Blanchard. I've recently joined the group to find new books to read and to help bring my new novel into the world in print!

I wrote the novel "Blue Moon Bench", a suspense novel of the southwest inspired by Hitchcock's Rebecca (Daphne DuMaurier). I so believe in my novel and know once it's edited and published many will enjoy reading it.

Thanks, and hi everyone!

message 265: by Deb (new)

Deb Rhodes Sounds like an intriguing novel, Dawn. Do you plan on publishing soon?

message 266: by Landon (new)

Landon Roussel Hello, my name is Landon Roussel. I am a primary care doctor by day, author by night. I have been writing personal essays for years but have recently written my first book, On the Primitive Way (OnthePrimitiveWay.com), after the death of my brother. My book deals with the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela that I took with my brother, just before he died, and the process of our reconciliation after a decade of estrangement due to drugs and prison, but I think my writing niche is more related to community-related issues--how can we live healthier together.

The book is self-published, so I'm learning the ins and outs of the self-publishing world. I look forward to making connections with fellow authors, ones in which we can inspire each other to be better writers.

Katja Vartiainen Hi everyone,
my name is Katja and I put out two books during the last month, other with my husband Christian Eberle.

Kitchenelves Revolution by Christian Eberle

Full Circle From doodles to discovery- 101 drawings to finish (Volume 1) by Katja Vartiainen

I am more of an illustrator, with art background, and I think life would be a drag without reading. It's been a a fascinating month, and I really enjoy this Goodreads community.

Alicia Ehrhardt Okey dokey - the system ate my first try.

I'm Alicia Butcher Ehrhardt. I write mainstream, and I'm just learning how to navigate the author part of the site. I published my first novel almost two weeks ago - and I think I'm still in shock.

Making Connections is a great name for what I hope to do - I've been active on Wattpad and other sites as much as possible. And have made many wonderful friends, readers AND writers, online. And I don't even have to leave the house!

I see links above, so I'll include mine:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

It is subtitled 'A novel of obsession, betrayal, and love,' and is a complex look at the relationships between the three main characters. This is Book 1; the story won't be completely finished until the end of the trilogy. (And it feels weird to call a mainstream novel a trilogy.)

I already see one mainstream author above - hi, Rian.

message 272: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Murphy Hi everyone, I'm Christine (aka C.P Murphy) I've been on Goodreads for years now but never put too much into it. I have two books published- a historical fiction and a paranormal romance. (Which for some reason I was never able to claim here on GR) I've been away from the writing world for about 7 years due to "life" but I've recently been trying to get back into the swing of things. I'm hoping to have not one but two novellas out this spring. I tend to make my romances shorter and strive for longer historicals. I know, they say stick to one genre but I just like to tell all kinds of stories. I'm looking forward to getting to you all:)

Yes Deb, it's planned to be published January 1 2016. Getting ready to do a give away, and I hope to get the opportunity to do some readings in local independent bookstores.

Thanks for the kind comment. Hope your day is great.

message 277: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Hello everyone! My name is Ashley and I come from a small town in Virginia. I fell in love with reading as a child and although I got away from it in my teen years, I rediscovered my love a few years ago. My all time favorites are mysteries and romances but I also like paranormal, chick lit, ya, na, etc. I'm not a big fan of historical or nonfiction but I will pick up something if it interests me. I look forward to connecting with everyone!

message 278: by Christine (new)

Christine Moore Hi Everyone,
My name is Christine Magnus Moore and I love to read memoirs. My own has been published this year titled "Both Sides of the Bedside: From Oncology Nurse to Patient an RN's Journey with Cancer." My book is a roller coaster ride for readers and thankfully I have 33 5-Star reviews on Amazon. Yipee!
I live in California. Yes, I know I'm weather spoiled! :)

message 279: by Jon (new)

Jon Hi, I'm Jon. I'm glad to be part of a Goodreads group about connecting/networking and hope I will be an effective memeber, who furthers the group's goals. My debut novel, The Reform Artists, comes out in January 2016.

It's a legal-suspense / spy thriller -- first in a series about the activities of a vigilante group of covert social reformers. I'm offering a FREE PREVIEW of the book's first five chapters on my authorsite: http://jonreisfeld.com

Today (11/14/15) is also the last day of my latest book GIVEAWAY, so if you want a shot at getting a free signed Advance Review Copy of the book, please check it out.

My books all seem to deal with the subject of justice/ injustice and I'm going to be blogging more on that in the future. If you have suggestions about topics/causes to cover under that heading please let me know!!!

Thanks.

message 285: by Rodney (new)

Rodney Hall Hello everyone, my name is Rodney Hall. I am an author living in East TN. I am really excited to be a part of this group. I am fairly new to the Indie world; publishing my first work in 2013 and recently adding my second book this past October. There is just so much to learn. LOL. So far, my work has been in the psychological thriller genre. I really love playing with the readers mind, using twists that aren't expected. I am really excited about my most recent release, "Dark Echo." So far people have made the comment that they don't want to read it after dark. :-)

message 286: by Michael (new)

Michael Forester Greetings All. Thank you for admitting me to the group. 10 years ago I self published 'If It Wasn't For That Dog' about my first year with my beloved hearing dog, Matt. But ten years on, what a change there has been in the Inde publishing world! My next book, Dragonsong, an epic fantasy poem in the 'Galwain and the Green Knight' tradition comes out next April. Meanwhile, I await an agent for traditional publishing of my debut novel, Vicious. I'm looking forward to reviewing and being reviewed. Best to all, Michael

I published my first book, Hidden In A Hawaiian Sunset, last year. I put my second out, The Hills Of Tuscany, last July. These are part of my inspirational romance series known as The Broken Woman Cycle. I also have some science fiction and fantasy planned. Very exciting times!

Romance4u Hi,
My name is Deborah and I'm a self-published author. My first book Second Chances came out in January with the next out at the end of this year. I've been working hard to establish a name for myself but for those of you who are authors or in the business yourselves you know it's not easy.
But anything that's worth it in life is never easy and I don't intend to give up.

Remember the pen is mightier than the sword...LOL

Hi, Deborah. What do you write?

I write mainstream contemporary fiction.

message 294: by Romance4u (new)

Romance4u Hi,

I have written 3 books...all romance.

Have you had any luck? I've sold some but not enough to make even a part time living..LOL

Alicia Ehrhardt Romance4u wrote: "Hi,

I'm JUST starting on the marketing; my debut novel came out Oct. 28 - and sold a bunch to family and friends - but that's over.

I'm waiting for people to read and review. And hoping they will - I know it will be slow, but it's a love story in the grand tradition, and people tell me they get hooked when they start. But I have to finish the other two books in the trilogy to tell the whole story.

I'm getting the POD version ready, and then the marketing will have to be a sideline as I get back to writing. I write reasonably well - I market badly!

It's due to illness - I can only do one thing at a time - so I will have to depend on the kindness of strangers. I think I've made $30 - for fifteen years' work, so it's a good thing my husband is retired.

It's a slow process, becoming known - I knew that. I just didn't realize HOW slow.

Nice to meet you.

Hi again, Deborah. I noticed that you have a block of text under your novel on you page. It seemed a good idea - how did you get it there? Did you use the 'review' feature, and then just not rate it?

I liked how your made it look.

message 297: by Romance4u (new)

Romance4u Alicia,

Very nice meeting you. I admire your sticktuitiveness...as we both know it's extremely hard. I'm sorry I didn't go into it when I was younger since books were not a dying breed then and people actually had the time or made the time to read back then. Oh well. I've only just started so I will give it a few years before I admit defeat.

What is the name of your book? I'm always looking for a good love story.

It IS hard. It is also worth it, I believe, or I wouldn't pour everything I have into it.

It's called Pride's Children, and here it the link for Amazon US:

If you check out the description and read a few pages into the sample (I LOVE Look Inside!), you will see whether this is your kind of book.

Thanks so much for taking a look.

I just followed you. Are you aware your book cover isn't showing up? I was puzzled - I thought it was there, but when I went to look I got a generic cover.

Hope it sorts out easily - maybe it's just a glitch?

Let me know if you want me to check it again.
