Stephen Snyder Hi everyone, and thanks for having me in the group!

I'm an MD sex and relationship therapist on the faculty of the Mt Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, a frequent guest on major media, and a regular contributor to HuffPo + PsychologyToday.

I'm interested principally in non-fiction -- and as a sex therapist I'm especially interested in books on relationships, gender, culture, anthropology, and primatology.

Favorite books of all time include "In the Shadow of Man," by Jane Goodall; "The Quest for Identity," by Allen Wheelis; basically all of Freud (I'm a recovering psychoanalyst); Dorothy Dinnerstein's "The Mermaid and the Minotaur;" Julia Serano's "Whipping Girl;" Deborah Tolman's "Dilemmas of Desire"; Jared Diamond's "The World Before Yesterday."

Also loved David Reich's new book on ancient DNA: "Who We Are, and How We Got Here;" and of course Yuval Noah Harari's "Sapiens." I purchased his "Homo Deus," but I hesitated to read it because I worried it would upset me too much.

My own first book, "Love Worth Making," launched Feb 2018 from St Martin's Press https://buff.ly/2sVVUgU
We've had awesome press so far, but now I'm interested in getting into the hands of people who actually read.

Here's my GoodReads author page https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

It features Q+A, an excerpt, and some special videos.

I appreciate all thoughtful reviews of my book. And I look forward to being part of this group!

Guy Lozier Hi everyone...it's great to meet you all...hope your day is going as well as mine......

Just as most of you, i'm an Author but i'm also a Director and Producer...

https://guylozier.com/

Many of us have the dream of our world becoming a better place to live...fewer of us spend some or much of our time attempting to assist the process...I am one that spends some time and much time some times doing exactly that...hehe...

In my books I have chosen to hide knowledge of the extra-ordinary which is designed to trigger hidden locks within the individual which will assist them towards growth of their potential...some might refer to this technique as encoding...

Not just anyone can accomplish such things as it requires understanding of things beyond words...concepts of reality which transcend it...experiences pulling self beyond time/space confines...and most importantly, the willingness to assist others to become self-empowered...

Everyone should learn about their own potential...scientific research which has uncovered more and more of our capabilities...

Why? Well...it is simple in one way but very complex in another...but, if each were aware of their potential as a great eagle that can fly high above in the sky instead of being the lowly ant which is bound by gravity to walk every step in their path without wings...so this knowing releases the individual to become what has been hidden from them their whole life...and so I use encoding to assist others to release their image of self which has been designed to control them and keep them from ever finding their true potential...

It was a pleasure to meet you all...I look forward to discussing more with each of you...

David Saffold Hello all, I am new to goodreads as well as a new author. My debut book came out the first of the year and I am building my author platform. My book is a self-help book called "A Beginner's Guide To Perfection" which is about the power of our beliefs. I would love to make new friends!

I live in Nashville, TN and have jumped off the corp america bandwagon to pursue my passion of helping people free themselves from the devastating effects of destructive beliefs.

Like I tell people, everything I am doing around being a published author is the first time I have ever done it. I sure need all the help and encouragement I can get! Bless you all and I look forward to meeting many on here.

Mike Lee Hi: I am living in the Cincinnati area and I am in the final edit stage for Part I -The House of Lies, which is part of my third S.F. and first Dystopian Novel Fear.
Prepare to be thrilled, enthralled and frighten by this a non-stop thrill ride! As you step into this dystopian nightmare. This is the saga of the entire Guidry family from their epic triumphs, failures, and struggles. It begins when Grandpa Joshua Guidry, who at age ten invents a interstellar communications device to talk to alien civilizations and has no idea there are alien’s listening to his transmissions. Next, little Joshua Guidry grows up to opens an extremely successful robot / android shop called Robtoicus Americons which eventually supplies most of the world’s civilian and military robots and androids. Then, the world’s gold supply mysteriously disappears and one of Joshua's grandson, Jason Guidry goes on a space mission to mine an asteroid for enough Gold to resupply the world. Meanwhile, poor Conrad Guidry is kidnapped by Space aliens and is trapped on a ship with several other humans as they try to avoid being eaten by giant spiders.
This is one possible nightmare future in which an Atomic World War III destroys most of modern civilization. No one knows who started it, but North Korea, or Iranian sponsored terrorists were the most likely suspects. Whoever caused it, it was the end of the Modern Era. Finally, Gideon Guidry fights Fear Corporation's oppression and suppression of the poor, though propaganda, mind control and starvation, as he struggles to preserve and protect the Guidry family legacy. The poor are forced to give up one of their children, a Five Year, to be adopted by a wealthy family and to never be seen by their biological parents again except on a reality TV show. Then the world turns to a more primitive society, one in which the middle class no longer existed and only the poor and the rich now inhabited the Earth. Nuclear fallout and gangs of mutants made the surface uninhabitable at night.

Hi Addison,
Thank you for the warm welcome. Are you going through a tour company, or just doing it on your own? If you would rather talk privately just message me and we can go from there. Because I am booked for those dates but maybe we can work something out if that's okay. It is nice to make a connection, and I look forward to hearing from you. I am sorry it has taken me this long to get back to you. I need to start coming in more often then I do, it's just finding the time to get away from posting, or scheduling tours, blitzes, reveals, giveaways etc. Man I get too busy sometimes, lol! Have a wonderful week Addison ☺

message 2938: by Darrell (new)

Darrell Gibbs Hi Everyone,
My name is Darrell. I am from Shannonville, Ontario, Canada. I have been on Goodreads for a year or two now and I just finished writing my first self-help in genealogy called '22 Steps in Researching Your Family Tree'.

A couple of years ago my spouse Linda wrote a true paranormal book called 'Tormented by Ghosts – True Life Experiences' which I co-wrote with her. As soon as that was finished I wanted to write a self-help book for first time authors (presently on the shelf) and a historical ficton book about an Anglo-Saxon king (Title: Wessex Reign) which I am still working on with a planned release date in Jan 2019. As I was doing so much research for the book I also researched on the genealogy of the kings of England, I then got the bug researching about my own family tree. I began writing a couple of genealogy books about all my grandparents going back 5 generations. This was quite a task and is quite time consuming. I then decided to create my newly released book '22 Steps in Researching Your Family Tree'. It is now available on Amazon (Paperback & Kindle) www.amazon.com/dp/1980859663 and Smashwords https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

I enjoy reading fiction and non-fiction I enjoy reading a wide range of fiction genres that I like but especially love reading Historical and Paranormal. My favorite authors are Bernard Cornwell, Matthew Harffy, Christopher Paolini and Bernard Knight.

I want to learn and enjoy my time on GR and the group 'Making Connections' which is a very interesting site. I think GR is the perfect place for someone who doesn't have a Facebook or Twitter account. Following various authors and different groups is a time consuming affair and as an author it is very important to make connections.

My Amazon Author page is www.amazon.com/default/e/B07C65SH5T

You also visit me at my author website darrellgibbs-author.com
my Genealogy Blog Page https://darrellgibbs-author.com/blog/
Wessex Reign Website (for updates for book release) https://dwgibbs2014.wordpress.com

In the meantime, please feel free to check out my blog and leave comments here in regards to any of my posts, books, etc.

Do you enjoy reading self-help books on genealogy?

I would love for you to read my book on the '22 Steps in Researching Your Family Tree' :)

If you are interested in starting your family tree then this book is the perfect companion for new genealogists! Lists the necessary steps required to help research, organize, keep better records and tools on their Family Tree. It saves you time and a lot of frustration by following a set of steps. Stop guessing what steps you have to take? Set goals and reach your objectives to trace your ancestral lineage.

I'm going to enjoy being part of the conversation. So friend me and check out my books here on GoodReads or on my website.

Happy reading & writing!
Darrell Gibbs

message 2946: by Addison (new)

Addison Carmichael Everyone, there has been a major blitz of false emails, etc. to authors requesting books to review. These are predators who wish to bilk you of $$. One who approached me even had a false blog website, then requested I pay $75 for a positive review. Remember that the number of reviews doesn't mean the number of sales of your book. Keep writing, keep publishing, and the natural/true reviews will eventually follow or not. It isn't a measure of your talent or success. Let's help each other against these cyber bullies/predators.

Effie Kammenou Hi!

My name is Effie Kammenou. I write women's fiction/ contemporary romance. I just released the third book in The Gift Saga Trilogy. It can be read as a standalone or as part of the series. My books are seeped in Greek culture, tradition and locations. Plus I share some recipes between some of the chapters.
I live on Long Island, NY, which is where, along with various locations in Greece, my saga is set.

I like to read romance that has substance, women's fiction, paranormal and historical fiction. I also like a good, well done erotic novel.
