A.J. Benson Hi there!

What a great idea to being us together! I'm AJ Benson and I am currently working on two books: a devotional (which I am co-authoring) and my own YA fantasy novel, The Sword of Ferbandey. My novel is about a teen, Fae O'Landry, who discovers she is a Magicae and must find an ancient sword in the medieval dream realm to protect both it and the modern waking one from a growing evil.

I also do some reviews and blog. Here's my site: http://ajbensonauthor.com/musings

I love to read fantasy, inspirational, and personal growth books. I am also a single mom to two amazing sons (a teen and a tween) and 5 fur-babies, two feline and three canine. It's my own personal zoo. LOL. I'm active at church and scouts, too.

I would love to build some friendships here. So, feel free to send me friend requests!

AJ

Nicki Smith Hello, everyone! I'm Nicki, lover of books and doggies, and a self-published novelist. I joined GR in 2014, but have only recently become active. (Goodreads, where have you been all my life???)

I enjoy reading horror, science fiction, post-apocalyptic sci-fi, suspense-thrillers, historical fiction, and occasionally some urban fantasy.

My most recently published novel, Troop of Shadows, is a character-driven, post-apocalyptic suspense thriller. I've written its sequel, Beauty and Dread, and expect to have it ready for publishing by the end of summer. My first novel, Secrets Under the Mesa, is also sci-fi (think X-Files meets Ancient Aliens) and was published in 2014.

I'm happy to be part of this group and look forward to making new friends.

Hi Megan, Doug Oudin here, author of two seafaring books. I really enjoy Wilbur Smith, but several female readers I know consider him too explicitly graphic in his descriptions, not erotically graphic, but gory and disgusting. He does have a couple of books that are not too vivid, especially his book "Hungry as the Sea'. You might take a look at his author page.

Doug Oudin Hello all,
My name is Doug Oudin, I'm a retired harbormaster from Catalina Island, California, and I love to read and write. My two books are my memoir, 'Between Two Harbors, Reflections of a Catalina Island Harbormaster', and a work of fiction, 'Five Weeks to Jamaica'.
I'm 'old school', and so this forum and other social media activities are out of my comfort zone, but I'd love to hear from any of you that might want to share your thoughts and insights. Thanks!

Thanks!

Uta Christensen Hi everybody,

I am an author, and my name is Uta Christensen.

My first book, my father’s memoir was published in Germany in 2005. The memoir was written in German for the benefit of my father who never learned to speak or read English. My second novel, "Bed of Roses, Bed of Thorns", was published in the US in 2009. My third book, "Tough as Fine Silk, Escape from Beijing", was published in 2012 and my fourth book "Caught: Surviving the Turbulent River of Life" was also published in the US in December 2014

All my novels are based on true stories.

I'd like to get more reviews for my books. If someone is interested in doing a honest review of one of my books, I'll be happy to send more information

Thanks,
Uta

Kate Bennet Hi! I'm Kate! I've been a reader for almost as long as I can remember. While literature is my first love, I devour romance novels too (mostly contemporary, some Christian, some historical, and very little erotica). Occasionally, I'll read a thriller, memoir, or biography.

I have two contemporary romance novels in the works: one is complete and just needs polishing, the other is almost complete -- just a few chapters left to write before all the editing. Before turning to novels, I wrote plays and screenplays. Oh, and I write some articles too. This is all on top of my day job!

So that sums me up. Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Justin Bauer Greetings people and automated-bot profiles alike. My name is Justin Bauer, and I write a kind of satire that borrows from comedy, tragedy, suspense, and a bit of horror... but all under the banner of realistic fiction. I've released two books, and am currently working on short stories while a plot continues to simmer for a third novel.
I just graduated from The Ohio State University, where I majored in English. While I often engage in reading a variety of genres my favorites are Shakespeare, and the contemporary novel that deals with realistic fiction.

I'm also a drummer of 15 years. That has opened some doors for me to explore other mediums of literary value. The storytelling structure of musical theatre is something in which I've taken part, and because of the confidence established there I acted in Shakespeare's Richard II last spring.

Now that I'm done with academia (for the moment) I'm writing creatively again with something that resembles consistency. It's a joy, and I'm looking forward to meeting/interacting with some likeminded people and automated-bot profiles alike. Thank you for your time.

David Fisher Hi Everybody,

I'm David and I was born and raised in the UK but have spent most of my professional working life as a management consultant in various parts of Europe and have settled with my family in Bonn, Germany. Since retirement, I write novels for the reader who, like me, values stories moving at a lively clip with a well-researched plot and interesting characters.

My genres consist of a mixture of mystery thrillers and mystery fiction, mystery suspense, including psychological dramas and police procedurals, all set against an international background. I also author the detective crime fiction series based on the casebook of Chief Supt. Frank Kruger, head of the serious crimes division in the Bavarian capital of Munich. The second volume in the series is just out.

I'm happy to be part of the group and hope you'll find a moment to visit my website at irresistiblereads2.com .

Hello I'm Neil - I have just put my debut children's novel 'Outside Edge' on Good reads. My genre is sport, specifically cricket. My whole family have been connected by sport in some way. My brother was an ex professional cricketer in the nineties and my father played professional football in the sixties. And then there's me! Yes I still play sport, love watching it too and writing about it. But I love reading, all kinds of things. Just read Me Before you so that I can watch the film that's coming out this week. My book tastes vary so much. Now reading Last Kings of Sark. (Just because...it is summer!)

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi.

David W. Berner Welcome all those who are new. In a way, I'm new, too. Been awhile since posting. Trying to get back into the swing as my new novel, NIGHT RADIO is being released. Night Radio: A Love Story

But also - I've been a bit close-knit lately, working on writing and marketing, working with publisher. I feel like I need to stretch a bit here.

What are people reading they are most enchanted by? What are you writing?

D. Miller Hi, I'm D. Gail. I write both fiction and nonfiction but prefer fiction. I am also a freelance editor. My husband and I live in Nova Scotia; we moved from Ontario 4-1/2 years ago. I recently published my first indie novel on Amazon and my first nonfiction book about six months ago, also on Amazon. I have written as a freelancer for clients (mostly Amish romance) and have watched my books fare well on Amazon with a mixture of pride and regret (regret that I can't take any credit for them!). I write primarily Christian fiction but nonfiction on almost any topic. I have been a little frustrated by the limitations of publishing while living in Canada (not being able to gift review copies through the Amazon.ca system, for example) so am interested in seeing how other Canadian indie authors handle the various challenges of today's digital self-publishing. Glad to be part of the group!

message 1087: by Liz (new)

Liz Velez Hi All! New here. My name is Liz and I am a romance fiction (all ADULT subgenres), manga and anime junkie. As long as it's romance and has an HEA, I'm all over it. Several years ago, I used my blog to promote authors of romance fiction and even started a pretty successful virtual book tour business. Unfortunately, due to health issues, I had to shut it all down, but I've missed it. So, I'm back. My plan is start with a book blog promoting romance authors and their literary labors of love, then trying my hand and starting a new virtual book tour company again and, eventually (hopefully sooner rather than later), parlaying that into a full-service virtual author assistant business.

I JUST created my new book blog, Liz's Bookshelf, http://lizs-bookshelf.blogspot.com, so it needs some love and some content. So, I would love to set up a few promos on my blog if any of the adult romance authors here would like to help a gal out. :) If so, let me know!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
