Mike Driver Hi I'm Mike,

I write supernatural and horror fiction but more of the creepy scary type than the splatter and gore. I've got a couple of books on Goodreads including a novel and two collections of short stories and I'm always looking for honest reviews and feedback. I'm happy to provide a pdf to anyone who expresses an interest.

I hope at some point some of you will enjoy my work.

Darcy Leech I'm Darcy Leech, author of From My Mother releasing with eLectio Publishing in April 2016. I'm a first time author currently reading Goodreads for Authors and trying to live it!

You can check out my author page at http://darcyleech.com, or https://www.facebook.com/darcyleechau...

A non-fiction memoir in the narrative medicine genre, From My Mother may be of interest to you! Blurb:
Riveting, soulful, and courageously told, From My Mother is a meditation on grief, family, genetic disease and also a deeply personal account of the narrator’s coming-of-age amid medical crisis and tragedy to carry on the lessons from her mother to raise her young son. A story of loss, From My Mother is full of life, a story of beginnings as much as endings, a moving book that transforms suffering into art and inspiration. Darcy Leech was born to Jo Lyn Bartz, a mother who carried myotonic muscular dystrophy, a disease 1 in 8500 suffer from. Jo Lyn’s son, Dustin Ryan Bartz, was born with congenital muscular dystrophy with a high enough frequency of protein repeat mutations that of his 13 years of life, every day defied prior medical knowledge. Leech narrates a moving meditation of the enduring mysteries of what dormant harbingers of genetic disease may lurk within, the surprising possibilities in loss, and the deep resilience of the human spirit as the body weakens.

The narrative highlights the relationship between diseased mother and healthy daughter, revealing Jo Lyn as a woman of strength, a caretaker who quietly marched toward her own degenerative weakness, someone grappling for identity while ostracized by an invisible disease, and a resilient spirit who endured holding the child who inherited her genetic misfortune as he took his last breath. From My Mother is the honest story of finding joy through loss, living fully within limitations, and the universal struggle of grappling for identity against the device of innate genetic code through invested love and personal choice. From My Mother leaves the reader pondering the value of genetic testing, the beauty in a disease easy to accept as genetic fault, and the heart wrenching question of when life should be sustained by machine or ended by choice.

Alex Brown Hi everyone,

My name is Alex. I'm a history and English double major at the University of Pennsylvania. My dream is to be a professional writer. I started and half-wrote a fantasy novel a few years ago, but the task of relearning my world and rewriting what's there has scared me out of taking it up again. I'm launching a blog with the start of the new year and taking up a book-a-week schedule with the hopes of building a reading and writing routine that will help me finish my work. I would very much appreciate any advise from experienced and professional writers.

Melissa ♥ Dog/Wolf Lover ♥ Martin Okay, for some reason I thought I already introduced myself. My brain!!

I'm Melissa, I read almost all genres of books and I love making new book loving friends on GR. I have found so many good books through friends on here, it's kind of a blessing and a curse when I can't afford to get them all or read them all at once! Such is the life of a book addict. :)

G.A. Stratton Hi,
I'm G.A. Stratton, an award-winning author of numerous screenplays and works of fiction. Sounds impressive on my author bio but I am always shy about patting myself on the back. My first novel was released in December a paranormal romance, Shadow of Life.

My favorite genres are horror ( give me vampires, werewolves, zombies and ghosts any time), sci-fiction, romance and history and season with a little humor.

I live with my family in the film capital of the south, Atlanta, Georgia,

Terri Lee Hello... My name is Terri Lee, I'm an avid reader of many different genres but prefer thriller/suspense, and have also done a few R &R's. I used to be a book a day type of girl, but since having chemo in the past I'm a wee bit slower. I also just wanted to add that I also read a very wide array of Authors, from bestseller to indie, I can find the good in all. I haven't met a book I didn't dislike.

Katie Conigliaro Hello all! My name is Katie and I blog at www.katsyxo.com! I'm a nerdy lifestyle blogger which of course means lots and lots of book posts (:

I am also an aspiring writer. I write primarily YA fantasy/dystopian, which is also what I read the most of. I also love reading (good) historical fiction (i'm about to finish a degree in history so I am a bit picky in some ways!) One of my 2016 goals is to finish the book I've started and to write creatively every day, even if only a paragraph or two!

Happy to have found this group (:

-Sheperd's pie. Yes. Not good. Not for me. I like everything but separate!
- When people doesn't understand that yes, crying while you reading is okay. It's normal. You feel emotions. You are human. It's okay to cry!

My favorites books of all time:

- The Harry Potter's serie.
- Me before you (Ugly cryied like never before.)
- The fault in our stars (Also ugly cried like never before)
- Cloud Atlas

Hi I'm Christine,
I'm new to this group (obviously) and I'm also new to goodreads so if you want to add or talk to me I'm here.
One thing you should know about me is that I'm super awkward but I'm fun once you get to know me. Reading, writing, and dance are some of my favourite ways to spend my time. I love to support indie authors and write reviews on here pretty frequently (I'm also an active friend).
So if you're interested in gushing over books just add or message me.

John Graden Hi Everyone,
I hope I can contribute to this group as I figure out the gold mine that is Goodreads.

My new book, "Who Killed Walt Bone," is a fast-paced, true coming of age story with drugs, sex, and murder all set in a 1970s karate school. Early reviews have been great.

Like most of us, I am seeking additional reviews and ways to participate. Thanks!

message 497: by Jack (new)

Jack Dancer Hello. My name is Jack Dancer and I'm an avid reader of just about everything but I especially like thrillers, mystery, suspense, good comedy and certain romance that has an edge to it - thriller, comedy, crazy, etc.

I'd like more romance reading but it seems that so much of it's the same - written by women for women. Don't get me wrong, I love women - hard to get into romance without 'em. But there's also the men side and that seems to be where things are lacking in the romance department.

So, I've taken it upon myself to write romance and have published three books in a series called, Detour Paris. It's written from a man's point of view since I'm a guy and that's easiest for me. But it's written for men and women readers.

If anyone can recommend any romance novels for me to read I'd appreciate it. In the meanwhile I guess I'll just write my own.

Anyhow, glad to be here and am looking forward to meeting both writers and readers.

Oh, I live in Southern California. My author page is on Goodreads if you'd like to stop by. Otherwise, I'll stop by and see you.

Thanks!
