Two ways of dealing with it:

1. Write something. Doesn’t matter what. Copy out the ‘Highway Code’. More practically put some words in the mouth of a character. Next time you try to write you’ve written something!

2. I divide my books (80,000 words) into two halves – obviously 40,000 words each. I thus don’t recognise the 40,000 word block because I’ve finished a half!(less)
