I finished Patricia Briggs' Dragon Blood duology, the Magisterium Series and read a little Brandon Sanderson (although, I must say, nothing he writes is "little"). On the mystery side, I dived into Michael Connelly's Lincols Lawyer series and have Robert Dugoni on my "to read" list. Totally unrelated, I'm almost finished with Pilgrim's Progress--highly recommended. (less)

Edit, then edit again, especially after putting your project aside for several weeks. Listen to advice from beta readers and editors. They'll have some great ideas. Also, don't listen to advice from beta readers and editors. They can have some not so great ideas. (less)
