Julia Thank you for the awesome review. I was equally irritated about the situation with the cousin and his gf/now wife, especially as it remained unresolved but there was still a weird tension between the Walker and Olivia’s cousin (aka the cheater) that the women noticed? Perhaps she will find out about the cheating and will be the h in one of the future books? What do you think…🔮

I'm hoping something will change. I think it's unfair for Maddie to be left in the dark. And it's annoying that the choice of whether to forgive her husband or not was taken away from her. At least, what the author could do was give her character a chance to find out about the cheating and let her deal with it. 🤷‍♀️

I know this is only a side plot, but it really is triggering for me and has left a bad impression.  😩

Julia Yeah, I was annoyed, too. Especially as Walker was okay with leaving Maddie in the dark and he himself said in inner monologue that he couldn’t fathom touching another woman after meeting Olivia. But perhaps the author will pick this storyline up because of the way she described the men‘s strange behaviour between each other and the remaining tension.

Ahhhh yup, there's still some tension mentioned in the epilogue. I'm really hoping that something good will happen to Maddie. 🤞

nikki I'm currently reading this and I'm at the part where we find out about Harley's cheating. Someone said that he was SA'd and didn't cheat. But my question was that why didn't he tell Maddie then? If he knew her best friend and bridesmaid had done something against his will, I'm pretty sure Maddie would have understood and dropped her. Idk for sure what happens tho. So far, it's been implied that he cheated on Maddie :(

The way it was told, he got hurt by Maddie and went to drown his sorrows with alcohol, and he slept with the OW in that state. But according to the author, Harley loves Maddie, and the OW took advantage of him, and if this is the actual case, then yes, it would be SA.

Yet the way I see it, he deliberately chose to sleep with the OW because he's such a baby and couldn't handle the rejection like a mature adult. Idk how the author will spin this off, she said she's going to write Harley and Maddie's book. 🤷‍♀️

Anna Whin ^^ YIKES! i didn’t know that Harley and Maddie are getting a book… prob gonna skip on that one. i too support your point bc i think being drunk should never be an excuse to cheat🥱

Amen to that, there's never going to be enough valid excuse for cheating on your significant other. 🤧

nikki @Jen urghh i knew there was a reason why harley gave me the ick! it really seems like harley cheated based on the writing + how he handled the rejection. def gonna skip harley and maddie's book because i do NOT wanna to see them end up tg. maddie deserves better ngl.

So true; he should've told her, and she should've dumped his cheating ass. 😤

Kelly ~Booktrovert~ In the author's group on FB, she said that she's going to write a story for Harley and Maddie since so many people have been asking about it.

Sneha I m so happy that y'all are discussing the whole Maddie and Harley's situation. I was continuously waiting for the moment the truth abt his cheating would be out. I even though that it would affect Olivia and Walker's relationship as Olivia said something like I would stop believing in love if Maddie and Harley broke up when Maddie told him abt her pregnancy. I definitely need a closure on that topic.

Cheating is a triggering topic for me (and for safe readers), that's why I couldn't get past it. 😤 But as my GR friend said, these two are going to have their book. So I guess the closure will be there? 😅 I don't have it in me to revisit this, but if you do decide to read it, hopefully it'll be worth it. 🤞

Amara Ngl it’s kinda disappointing seeing everyone calling Harley a cheater. That guy is literally a victim. Yeah, he kinda dealt with maddies rejection like a crybaby and it most definitely is an ick that he tried to drink away his sorrows, but in that state („shitfaced drunk“) he hardly could give any consent… if the roles were reversed and Maddie would’ve been in that situation, we wouldn’t even give a second thought to labelling it as SA, bc it is.

Miki’s⚠️ Safety Reviews & Rants⚠️ I haven’t read this series yet. But I will and I will not be reading that couple story . Cheating is a no go and hiding it is even worse. If he was a victim why not tell her? And wasn’t it w her BFF?

Yeah if he was shitfaced drunk he would have whiskey dick and not be able to perform. I might be a B here but mens dicks still have to get hard and perform unlike a woman. And mens dicks definitely are temperamental when they consume to much alcohol or drugs. So it hard for me to believe victim as much as a woman in these stories. It’s an easy way for the author to excuse their behavior.

Miki’s⚠️ Safety Reviews & Rants⚠️ Also I’m not saying SA can’t happen to men…. Just a convenient excuse for authors to use to get these douche bags out of cheating.

Tbh, try as I might, I can't remember much about this side plot anymore; only that it made me furious and almost made me DNF this book. I wouldn't put it as cheating in my review if the writing style, storytelling, and Harley's reaction didn't make it look like one. And I'm not the only reader who felt that way.

I know SA is a sensitive topic; it's a TW for me. I would recognize it as it is and wouldn't have taken it lightly. I would even feel sympathy for him. But I didn't see that being the case with Harley. And if I can still remember, up until the end, he's still wary of Walker. This blackmail is like a ticking bomb for him, a looming problem over his head. Why then act like that if he didn't do anything wrong? If it's assault, I'm hoping Maddie will understand and help him navigate this situation. But his fear of her finding out what happened made the circumstance even more suspicious. 🤷‍♀️
