I've never read her . Have a copy of Run River but even did not look through ...
I thought about this all night, wrote some more notes on Didion. will update my review. I still dislike her even though I gave it 4 stars.

The reviewer does a comparison of "The Year of Magical Thinking" to "Blue Nights" - in terms of it's relationship to the empathy of the reader.
