I adored some of Robinson's earlier books including The Science in the Capital trilogy and the Red Mars series, but I have set this one aside for now. I just can't deal with the info-dumps. I haven't totally given up on it yet, but I keep finding other books I'd rather read.

Agreed - there is a LOT of detail, and always over the least interesting parts.
I keep hearing rave reviews of this Red Mars business. Maybe I should check that out too.
I really wanted to like this book, but I stalled out at 30% when I flipped the page to a new chapter and found yet another infodump. I haven't totally given up, but it is behind several other books I want to read.

That's always a bummer, but knowing when to call it quits with a book is a necessity. I used to force myself through to the end of every title, but not anymore.
