These thoughts are very interesting.

In a ninth grade global class last week, the students did mini-presentations in front of their peers about any topic they wanted relating to Africa, big area to work with . And I'd say 92 percent chose music, with each student's presentation adding a little something more to the last one.

amen. these quotes are awesome.

I don't even know how to digest half of these quotes. They articulate, at least the best way I've ever read, a belief system I have held for a few years now that I have attempted to articulate so many times and failed. And now I realize I hardly understand (1) the total immersion of pop music in politics (2) the massive undertaking I still have left to understand it.

Yes, yes. I found his words to be a slow cool drink that I could feel go down my windpipe and nourish my soul. So intense was my trip to Pakistan that I still have not started reading chapter 2.

I should be getting it within the next week. I might not be able to resist just reading the entire thing in one fell swoop, but I'm sure re-readings are the necessary medicine.
