This looks interesting. Love the time period. Is this HR or historical fiction?

Bit of both. I'm especially interested in WW1 history, and I like epistolary novels so this more than right up my alley. The narration is superb - Alex Wyndham probably has the lion's share and he's just wonderful.

I was so caught up in this story of friendship, emancipation, love, loss, tragedy, hope, despair… a real gamut of emotions, that I couldn’t bear to set it aside.
That ^^ is a perfect description of how I felt as well. The letters/telegrams captured so well the sense of the time period, the graduate societal and cultural change. And romance is so lovely.
