K.J. Watters is the author of The Sale of Woodhouse Glass, a solitary journalistic article, and a large number of unfinished manuscripts.

She has an underutilized degree in Communications, selected for its minimal math requirements. She married her math tutor, now a CPA in southern Oregon.

Her hobbies currently include reading, writing, and watching beginner level gymnastics, ballet, and soccer practices. When she isn’t writing or being a mom, she also teaches high school conflict resolution classes part-time.

I tend to translate experiences into writing as they are happening so my inner dialog is more an observational description. Quirk of being a writer I suppose! If you read Woodhouse Glass and sign up for my newsletter (or just let me know), I will send you some free bonus content like extra scenes that didn't make the editors cut . Really, I just keep writing, even if I hate what I'm turning out. My book was written in a pretty linear way. However, at one point, I had to just go back to where I felt like it had derailed and delete a huge chunk of manuscript. I didn't save it anywhere. I just started again. I needed to go the wrong direction before I knew what I wanted for sure. (less)

Chapter 6: In Which We Flash Back

Facebook memories turned this memory up this week. It's pretty great so I had to share it with you.

(I copied into a public blog today so I could share it, but it's actually from 4 years ago. So don't feel too sorry for me, my kids are much bigger and all in school at the moment.)
