I love Pembrokeshire and its coastline, similar in many ways to Devon, the county in which I was born. I married a Pembrokeshire girl in a rural Welsh church.

My wife’s aunt and uncle ran a country house hotel in West Wales. They had the misfortune to lose their chef due to illness at the start of one holiday season. Back then I was a college lecturer and my college effectively shut down for two months every summer. For the next few summers we divided our time between the hotel kitchen and the beaches and they never replaced their chef.

An interestingly different take on the murder mystery protagonist, a private investigator with a Springer Spaniel called Lady which has special skills and a personality of her own.
'Body in the Woods' is an easy read with well drawn characters and relationships, and not too many that I couldn't keep track of them.
