A native of South Carolina, Greg is a former IT professional and coffee shop owner. His four novels have received a total of thirteen independent publishing book awards and honors. Having crafted relatable, realistic, and sometimes humorous character-driven stories in the Christian fiction genre with A Seed for the Harvest (2014) and The Gills Creek Five (2017), Greg explores coming-of-age themes in a 1974 summer beach setting in The Sea Turtle (2023). His latest award-winning work, The Ballad of Walker Owens (2024), is available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble. My best story ideas often come to me when I am doing something totally removed from writing (e.g., walking the dog, sleeping, driving, etc.). In writing "A Seed for the Harvest," I would go 2-3 weeks without writing, then be woken up in the middle of the night realizing I had just dreamed my next chapter. I would jump out of bed and immerse myself back into the writing process. In short, I let the book "happen" to me rather than force a contrived story on my readers.(less)
