One of the best things for me about being a writer, is when one of my characters surprises me- an idea or a line of dialogue that comes to me and I just go with it. Whether it's a journal, or a paragraph or lines of dialogue, it doesn't have to be fully formed. It doesn't have to become something. Just get the words on the page. Sometimes I have an idea for a scene but I don't have the ones leading up to it formed, or know what happens next, and that's okay. You can write out of order. Writing leads to writing. And read as much as you can too, that is always inspiring.(less)
