I agree, Eliza would have been an abolitionist today. If you've not read about the Grimke sisters of SC, their story is told in Sue Monk Kidd's historical fiction, The Invention of Wings. There are many other women and men who fought against slavery in the 1700-1800's but we don't often hear about them.
