I'm curious. What other books have been made into movies?
Last Letter from Your Lover (2018), Head Full of Honey (2018), Me Before You (2016)
I wonder if The Giver of the Stars was quickly optioned for a movie and Book Creek was not has to do with Givers tidy, uncomplicated ending. With a few exceptions, it seems to me that those stories are usually more popular in Hollywood.
