Plus it's kind of hard to watch characters that you've watched be their glorious selves suddenly lose their selfhood and become Marmee. Marriage reads like the death of individuality in this book. Unless you're Meg, and that's been your personality all along
IKR. The romances between Jo & Bhaer and Amy & Laurie seemed too rushed. They were very much substitutes!
