I don't understand why people say "it's just the same style as other YA books". Of course it is, it's under YA for a reason.
Every author has their own way of expressing how they feel in their writing, she had a very interesting way of seeing our world. If you haven't noticed (which I'm sure you have) tons of books have similar story lines but they're all different. They help the author express the way they feel, or what they want others to feel.
I hate it when people say "just average YA fiction". YA Fiction is an umbrella category. There are so many books better than this one, and I'm sure that some are worse, too. Please don't judge a whole genre based on one bad experience.
Sme here. These are terrible books but I cant leave a book half read.
