Wilmari Crouse Same! I wanted more answers! I was also wondering who actually killed Patrick; why slit his throat if you have a gun.

Claire Liakos Me too, very loose ends

Joan Slitting a throat is quiet. The killer didn't want to warn others. Mark probably killed him as a loose end although the usb guys could have killed him to isolate Mark, whom they would also kill once obtaining what they wanted. I think the identity of Patrick's killer is pretty much irrelevant.

Paula Totally agree with Jaime. I knew Mark was shady, but in fairness, it took me a while to reach that conclusion and for a long time I hadn't a clue where the plot was going and found the novel riveting. I too thought he had set the scene in that she was sleeping on the boat when they ran into the papers and bag so he could have dropped everything into the water, while she did see the plane she only his word that there were bodies in it. I suspected he'd lost his job through insider trading/fraud, the papers and USB were his; and that he was gaslighting her but I was just overly suspicious! While she was a gutsy gal she was a bit wimpy in her thought processes and thinking she was to blame when they had rows.

Gail Nord I like your plot idea better than the actual book
