Everett Robert The evidence Andrew, points out that they had one interaction on Twitter (Hale sent out a general tweet asking people for weird ideas for her next book, Harris tweeted two words back ("sleep paralysis") and Hale thanked her. At that point Harris hadn't even finished the book, which contradicts what Hale said in her piece.

Harris, in a series of Goodreads status updates, explained why she didn't like the book (she felt it trivialized PTSD and justified statutory rape and was bothered by numeorus animal killings). There are screen shots that prove this, something Hale doesn't provide to back up her claims that Harris "catfished" her (and by making that claim, she misuses that term).

There is ZERO evidence that anything Hale said happened to her, actually happened. Hale claims that a book group (later ID'd as the blog YA Book Readers) asked her to send signed copies of her book to Harris after she (Hale) requested Harris to interview her for a book blog. According to the blog/book club, it was one of many general questions worded something like "do you plan on sending any free giveaways." and that no author was under any obligation to do so. Hale said she would like to send Harris a gift, they asked Harris if it would be okay to pass along her address. Harris agreed. Hale then used that address to google map her, and then used her contacts in the publishing house to verify it before going to her house.

Stalking someone is the writer's role in society? What? You are so far off track. I am a writer myself. I've had people not like my work. I don't stalk them in any way shape or form. I ignore them. That's what you should do when you put your work out to the public. At that point it's out there and you can't and shouldn't stop anyone from expressing their opinions about it. What Hale did is very very scary and I can't believe you are justifying it.

Plain and simple, what Hale did was invade this woman's privacy by showing up at her home and calling her work twice.

Everett Robert You can't just take Hale's assertions on face value not in the days since that have disproven most of her accounts or have shown, based on evidence, that what she said actually happened. That is what being an informed reader does.

And I still fail to see how stalking is justified which is what you are doing.

On that note, I'm done with this conversation. I have said all that I can say and have told you that there is evidence out there that contradicts Hale's version, which offers no evidence. If you want to continue to believe her web of lies and half truths which she says is journalism and is anything but, be my guest.
