i agree. there would have been some who at least tried to rebel. there would have been rumor. maybe Kathy would be rejected the rebellion option but she would have thought out it
Their internal policeman is so powerful because ALL of our internal policemen are so powerful. You want something dramatic to explain why they act the exact same way that almost everyone acts.
I disagree. Yes, oppression always calls forth rebellion, but the rebels in society are rare. Rebellion seldom succeeds, thus the book is true to life.
