Hey, Patti. So the difference between a writer and an author is that, if you are an author, you publish books, articles, etc. Writers, on the other hand, just well---write for a living. Although, people say there is no difference because you're basically writing what you want. I hope this helps.

Hi Simi! You write in the above message about Viola Carr. You say she is an interesting writer, who is also an author. I have heard others say this same thing. What is the difference between a writer and an author? I am so not in the loop:)
