Because Dracula himself was all about death yet Lucy (light) lived at the end, and Dracula died, in a way, to me, thus killing death. Just my opinion.
Interesting...I didn't see it from that point of view, but now I do. Another reader also brought up feminism into the novel - a topic I never thought about while reading Dracula. What did you thin of the end and why did you decide to read Dracula?

I find your take interesting. Would you please elaborate more on it? Or what part of the story do you have in mind to say that? I cannot think of any, since I read it a while ago. You know what they say. "No two persons ever read the same book".
