To follow up on my response to you, I did e-mail dougd56@gmail.com and got no reply. I won't be sending any more PDF's without verifying.
Hey guys. Sorry to bring this up again, but I received the same message yesterday, and I would like to know how things have turned out for you.
Hi! I also received this request. This is a very questionable offer from a closed account. No information. You can just donate your book to pirates. I will not send anything at this address.
Hi guys! I received the same request today--and found your thread as a result of googling the requester's email address. Seems pretty phishy to me. I'm not planning to respond to him.
He's still at it, I received the same request - from a closed account called Booksguy. It seems to me any legitimate review request would come either from a public account or provide details of their review blog/business and previous reviews done.
and further digging has found a second closed goodreads account under a different name https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/7... Definitely suspect.
I received the same request as well. It seemed odd, so I emailed doungd56@gmail.com to verify and never heard back. Sounds like a scam.
Glad to see this thread, pretty much confirms my opinion. I got the same message yesterday and googled the email address to find this collection of comments. The GR account it came from appears to be active still but set to private so no details visible other than the stats - 5 ratings and 0 reviews - not a good track record for someone claiming to want to review books. Probably just harvesting your email addresses if you should reply.
UGH, I was just about to give out an EPUB to this guy, but my gut said to search on it, and thanks for everyone who posted. My knee jerk reaction is to just be nice and helpful, but it's better to go with my gut and check things out! I got two emails from him. sigh.
Scam artist doesn't even bother to change the spamalot email a bit. Just wrote a post on my blog to make fun of the whole thing. Pasted one on my profile just a few hours ago.
He's also soliciting on fictiondb.com, claiming to want to advertise books for free to his e-mail subscribers, and encouraging the author to book their spot. I wouldn't trust these offers at all.

I had to really search around to see if this guy was legit, he just sent me that inquiry as well....the message was so general. I had expected to see "Thank you Sir/Madame/Other" at the end of it.
