Larry’s answer to “How do you deal with writer’s block?” > Likes and Comments

I had a friend that played cards that way, if he was losing he could just get up and walk away. If I was a gambler I'd lose my shirt. I've tried to kick too many dead horses to life.
That said i never have writers block, I need 27 hours in the day to write all that fills my head and heart.
I've hit speed bumps but I just work on something else till I get over the bump.

I've heard a lot of writers say their heads are filled with ideas and stories and words. I’m always astonished and awed by that. As for card playing, I’m not much of a gambler so I’d have an easy time walking away from a losing streak. Same with my writing: if the words aren’t coming, I step away rather than trying to write simply to write because in the end I wouldn’t be satisfied with what I wrote.
