I couldn't agree more. I read this book based solely on recommendation and I knew nothing about it, so based on the title alone, I was expecting sci-fi. I found it disappointing from that regard, but when you consider the idealistic theme throughout all of the stories, it becomes a good read. It does feel relevant today - as long as you don't go into it with any preconceived notions.
I don't usually read other people's comments before reading a book but for some reason I did this time so was able to approach it from the right angle thanks to your 'reply'. I totally agree, Bradbury made a powerful comment about humans and society, which sadly is relevant and probably always will be in some way.
