I just realised why some forgetful reader could've thought Douglas and David were brothers. They're both blond-haired and blue-eyed and, as I had said before, both their names start with D.
For visual thinkers, you're right--same look, same series, and that does get confusing. I asked for David to have one blue eye and one green eye on his covers, but I'm not sure that came through.
Maybe they didn't want to fork out money for one pair of contact lenses, only for half of it to be used (after all, what's the probability of finding a handsome, different-coloured-eyed cover model)?
It wouldn't require contact lenses--only a little photoshop magic. Take a look at your copy and see if you think it worked.
