What inspired you to write The Puffer Bellies?
Well, I'll admit, I saw so many parallels between the 1930s and today's political situation that I wanted to address it in a somewhat disguised manner—using some humor, folk traditions, and easygoing personalities to soften the blow of my sermonizing. What stood out to you in the story?
