no rights have been transferred. The publisher collects sales and pays royalties. I cannot grant you any rights that I do not possess. this is up to your legal department. If you got the brush off from the publisher, there's nothing I can do about that.
Hi Jonathan,
Thank you replying back to me. I will send our Copyright Permission Request to Cengage. I really appreciate you taking the time to chat with me.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
All the best,
Evangeline
Hi Jonathan,
After our last conversation I emailed Cengage our copyright permission request letter and I just received an email this afternoon informing us...
Thank you for contacting the Cengage permission department. Unfortunately, we are unable to grant permission to use any material from Game Programming All in One as the rights have reverted to the author. We are no longer able to grant permissions for this title.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Evangeline
Hi Jonathan,
I am following up on my message from last week advising you Cengage doesn't own the rights to your textbook anymore and the rights have been reverted back to you.
Please respond at your earliest convenience. Thank you, Evangeline

Hi Jonathan,
I hope this message finds you well. I have once again reached out to Cengage Learning, and they have denied my copyright permission request for the following reason: Rights have reverted to the author and no other info is available.
The Athabasca University is an Open Enrollment University, so we do not have start dates for our courses. Students can enroll at any time. This textbook is the only textbook in the course. Our Coordinator deemed your textbook suitable for the course. The entire course content reflects around this textbook. This textbook will be in electronic format, stored on a server owned and maintained by Athabasca University. This server is key and password protected, accessible only to registered students. We are requesting access for an estimated 35 students. We are requesting non-exclusive world rights.
Would you please accommodate us by granting us permission for use of your material for our COMP 369 distance education course.
Thank you once again for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards,
Evangeline
