I certainly like better this version of the fairytales: Cinderella's prince is not so dumb that he can't recognise his princess and has to rely on one shoe to retrieve her – Kai is actually an adorable human being and quite smart as well. Besides, the women in The Lunar Chronicles are so strong and resolute and clever and they are not "damsels in distress", not even lovely Cress. They don't need a prince to save them, and I think that's quite the model for little girls of future generations. As Winter says, "Maybe the princess can save herself".
So, I'm not rooting for the original stories!
