I vote for Maddie, starting out then following her career
I would love to see Maddie as a police officer.
I was thinking (and hoping) that the last couple of books were setting up a slow transition whereby Maddie would gradually replace Harry now that is retired. But instead of being a cop, I was thinking of Maddie following in her mother's footsteps and becoming an FBI agent. Maybe a profiler. Maybe Maddie could hook up with Rachel Walling.
As I read the Bosch series I noticed that a lot of time passed between each book. I wonder if Michael Connelly thought that this series would have endured so long, and whether he wished he had shortened the time gap between each book so that Harry wouldn't have aged as quickly. But Harry has had a great run, and I guess all good things eventually have to come to an end.
The Harry Bosch Wikia has Harry and Eleanor re-united in June 1996, and Maddie born in August 1996 ... . strange! Care to comment?
