Nia I find I am often distracted by other thoughts (often of other story ideas), so I have several different notebooks: story ideas, poetry, journal, and each gets scribbled in, then I move back to the WIP. Sometimes I write a paragraph knowing it will be rubbish, but it generally gets the ideas flowing.

Thelonious Legend Writing rubbish is better than writing nothing. That as least give you something to work with. On my less creative moments I'll put anything down on paper because even if I don't like it always offers me some tidbit beit character development, plot etc
