Cookie I'm with you. Mac's inner monologues made the book's pace so slow and I skimmed as well. I needed more Dani and Ryodan. Crossing my fingers for more Dani in the next book.

Teshai totally agree

Queenbee TOTALLY agree with you. This was that joke that is not funny. I looked for key words on a page like "Lors, ryodan, crimson hag,". The narrative was dissonant and the story drug on as we revisted every single freaking, vacuous experience Mac could come up with.

I almost felt like Karen was being paid by the word and did not care what she wrote, or else someone was dictating her plot and storyline and like the musician Princez, she was rebelling by writing a truly crap story.

For those who wanted more Mac, it perhaps would have been more prudent to make a separate book for that, Dani does growvm up in this but we see her from sfb Mac's pov with all the clueless self absorption Mac has always been known for.

I am a long time Moning fan who can always enjoy a reread or re listen of most of her novels. Not this one. In the words of thant famous literary critic of yhe early 20th century:

"This is not a book which should be taken lightly...instead, it should be THROWN with great force"

No reread on this trainwreck and godlyck turning the Keltar clan into unseelie and seelie Princes, captain obvious.

Sbcurious Completely agree. This is the only book of the Fever series I'm not buying.
