Jenny I saw an article about a garden near Alice Springs where the Aboriginal head gardener said how strange it was taking his grandchildren to see an big river - they were amazed to see all the water above ground and stones below, as they were only used to rivers with water you had to dig down to. They considered ‘our’ rivers to be upside down! So I imagine they would have Aboriginal people as the living river, not the white incomers. Would make a fascinating series but would need to be done by someone down under - different first people in different areas etc, would be a possible minefield! But a lovely idea.
