I also thought it was weird that Jules was back in town but not at her London flat...
Glad someone else thought about this. Also, if she came to her sister's magazine party isn't it likely her sister would have seen her there? If she was trying to pretend to be this older alias then it seems that the party would be the last place she would take him.
Agreed Melanie! Wouldn't your sister be the first person you would seek out?
I guess I was just so involved with my hatred for Will that all the other inconsistencies slipped by me. I actually verbally yelled out “YAY” when he was murdered! And I was actually happy that it was Aoife avenging her brothers death!
Haha yes! I only wish Hannah would have been able to have her moment with him as well.
i figured that the party would have been so crowded and she left relatively early that Jules wouldn't have seen them come in but i wonder what olivia told will about what the party was/why she was invited.
She does say in the book that after Will put Olivia into the cab she couldn't ask him to come with her because Jules would be there later that night. So I guess she'd just come back into town the night of the party? And rereading it, I guess Olivia downed a bunch of free drinks before they got to the point where they'd meet Jules. But yeah, a lot of stretching in this!
I just read the book so that's why my response is at this late date. Olivia met "Will" BEFORE Jules. She used Jules' apartment to look sophisticated and older but she wasn't living there all the time. She was away from her mom's house at college. The night they went to the party, Olivia was trying to AVOID Jules because she was hiding her relationship from everyone. She only took him there because it made her look more cool but she was nervous and got drunk. It was a huge launch party. Olivia and Jules weren't besties. It would have been extremely easy to blend in and not see Jules. Will went back into the party, after Olivia got drunk and he put her in a cab, and that's when he met Jules. And he didn't act "shocked" to meet Olivia at the luncheon. He acted so casual, that's what also made Olivia think she was losing her mind. But remember, she also used a fake name, so he wasn't expecting to see her when meeting Jules' sister for the first time.
