I don't know anything about Carinhall either. But did I ever tell you that in 1953, when I was 13 and rode the same street car to high school (in Munich) as Goering's daughter (who was 14 and one class ahead of me), she made a fashion show of her high school attendance, at a time when most people still lived on the very basics and most kids wore ill-fitting hand-me-downs from older siblings? (I wore blouses my mother had fabricated from my father's worn-out shirts and tight [unfashionable] skirts my mother had been able to make from my father's worn-out trousers.)
