Why would this be "difficult" to read as a non-believer and what makes you think that makes me a loser?
I believe every one should read these and read with an open mind and have a bible close by to check the references in the bible, it gives you book and scripture
I think it does really well in giving us ideas of the sorts of things that the Bible tells us would happen to those left behind. It may be fiction, but I think we should take the Bible references seriously.
I am an atheist and yet I felt the series was entertaining!
