This is one of the very best accounts of the dust bowl in the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. Read it as soon as possible.
I read it, my Mom and brother both read it. It is fascinating. I am not a history buff, but this is a great book. I had no idea that the human race started abusing the earth so long ago! A must read.
