Shogun and Noble House are top two Clavell books for me.
I read all of Clavell's books over 40 years ago. I remember them to this day in most part; and I enjoyed them all. The historical part was fascinating and as an earlier comment noted; a great educational way to understand feudal Japan.
Books like this are just stories, stories for Movies maker, nothing like what was written real happen, I read this book in 80s and i did not like the Japanese people, but getting to japan in 2010, its a great place to visit. But not to live there.
