To Calla, Ren is oppression. Shay is freedom. The only problem with that is that Shay has his own agenda. I'm not sure if Calla is a love interest or a means to an end. Yet again LOVE ME SOME REN!!
Why do you think that Ren loves Calla? I didn't get that. Yes, I think that he lusts after Calla, but love, I don't get that. I also don't get that Say has left Calla hurt and wounded and hanging. When did that happen? I agree that Calla does have strong feelings about doing what is expected of her as far as Ren is concerned, but she does not really know Ren. All she knows is that they are prearranged to be married. Shay on the other hand has spent more time with Calla and is sensitive to her feelings. I don't think Shay is trying to take Calla away from Ren, but there is definitely more of a connection to Calla. We certainly don't choose who we fall in love with, even if it is the person least likely we should be with.
I agree, we don’t choose who we love. But I’ve read chapter one of Wolfsbane and Shay is not scoring any points with me. I do agree that Calla has feelings for Shay. But she’s so busy running from Ren and what he stands for; she doesn’t give anybody but Shay a chance. Calla is so confused, how can she be sure of anything.
