Baltimore Chick I just learned of Carlos' death and I'm shocked and saddened. The world has lost a very special person and an incredible artist.

I had lost touch with Carlos over the years, but he was never far from my thoughts since several of his pieces grace the walls of my home, and his books sit on my bookshelf.

I count myself lucky to have known him, and my heart goes out to his lovely wife.

Angel Lacy I am shocked and sadden to find out the world has lost a brillant, and creative artist like Carlos. I lost touch with him years ago but I had the great luck to have worked with him and get the privilege chance to have a place in one of his works. He brought kinky to the next level, and his art was so new & fresh that it led way for so many to imitate. But he was truly one of the first to bring forth that style he featured in his coffee table books and on so much more. He will be missed & i'lll never forget the fun night we had in San Diego so many years ago. The man had some jedi powers for sure cause we walked right into that club! Haha you'll be missed old friend.

Frank Schorr So bummed out hearing Carlos Batts died. I had no idea and I lost touch with him and hadn't seen him since he lived in Baltimore. I got in touch with him by getting his info on the back of a Spectrum Art Annual and as an art student I had to interview working artists. He was the only one that was kind enough to listen to a young artist who had no idea what he was doing. He gave me some tips and told me how much he loved wrestling and fashion and his photography. He gave me some comic stuff to keep. I wished I would have stayed in Baltimore, but I left back home. I kept seeing some of his work around and always loved that gothic stuff. His work had so much life to it. I'll miss him even though I hung out with him briefly, but it was enough to make me sad as hell right now.
