Hi Drew! I really enjoyed this post. Actually reading a book right now called Plastic: An Autobiography by Alison Cobb. I think you would like it a lot, it talks about war and microplastics and environmental harm and even throws in some memoir! I feel like it’s such an important topic and it makes me hopeful to see people (like you!) writing about it. There is definitely a push toward going plastic-free, or at least plastic-reduced, among the people! It may feel like a really small push sometimes, especially when we are up against really powerful corporations and systems (and the fossil fuel industry as a whole!) but I am happy to see more and more people talking about it and making changes. A healthier world is still very much possible.

Hi Karina! I'm glad to hear that you found my post enjoyable, and yes: Reducing as much as we can or plastic-free is the way to go, although policy would have the biggest impact for sure! I'm glad you also find this important. And I will also definitely look up the book on plastic by Cobb! Thank you for the recommendation :)
