Yakari har fått en av Stora Örnens fjädrar i gåva. Men snart kommer han att få lära sig att en örnfjäder inte är något man bara får, utan en utmärkelse som måste förtjänas. Då en präriebrand bryter ut ställs Yakaris mod och företagsamhet på prov.

"Yakari" är en schweizisk barnserie om en sioux-indianpojke som kan tala med djuren, skapad av Derib och Job. De 21 första albumen gavs ut på svenska, tills utgivningen lades ned. 2017 inleddes Cobolt förlag utgivning av serien, i nyöversättning av Peter Sparring.

When we lived in Montreal, I think we checked out every Yakari comic book there was. The French sure know how to do comic books. Lucky Luc, Asterix. They go way beyond the American superhero model and actually tell real stories with plots that have nothing to do with saving the world.

Tellement régressif d'être en vacances et de relire une de ses bd d'enfance ^^
L'histoire me paraissait plus longue avant mais c'est en fait assez court et ça présente bien l'enthousiasme du héros. Y'a beaucoup d'humour très bon enfant, un bon petit plaisir

Este libro lo utilizo para practicar mi holandés (o Neerlandés). Me ayudó mucho. Los diálogos son simples y Yakari, el personaje principal es muy observador y siempre Anuncia lo que ve. Ejemplo: "¡águila grande!", "¡Un pato!", "¡Un oso!"

De modo que para niños es perfecto para mejorar su vocabulario mientras leen una historia emotiva y excitante. Llena de peligros y desarrollo de personaje a un paso humanamente consumible.

Yakari es un personaje inocente y débil. Pero es astuto y amable con quién le rodea. Se sobrelleva. Su padre es muy estricto con el, pero eso no lo detiene para cumplir sus objetivos. Es el niño aventurero que todos llevamos dentro.

Yakari is een jonge Sioux-indiaan die leert wat moed is. Yakari is natuurlijk een kinderstrip, dus dit is een eenvoudig, lief verhaaltje. Maar vergis je niet, Yakari's beproevingen zijn niet mals: hij moet vluchten voor een bosbrand, de nacht alleen in het bos doorbrengen en overleven tussen de wilde dieren. Job neemt zijn jonge publiek duidelijk serieus en scheept ze niet af met slappe hap. Deribs tekenwerk is fenomenaal en laat nog goed de invloed van zijn leermeester Peyo zien, vooral in de kinderen. De inkleuring, met al zijn bruintinten, is niet minder prachtig.

“Yakari ile Ulu Kartal”ı okurken kendimi bambaşka bir dünyanın içinde buldum. Küçük bir Kızılderili olan Yakari’nin cesareti, merhameti ve doğayla kurduğu o özel bağ insanın içini ısıtıyor. Hele hayvanlarla konuşabildiğini keşfetmesiyle açılan yeni kapılar… Bu sadece eğlenceli bir macera değil, aynı zamanda sevgi, dostluk ve hoşgörü üzerine derin bir ders gibiydi.

Yakari’nin sadık atı Şimşek’le ilişkisi bana gerçek dostluğun ne demek olduğunu hatırlattı. Ulu Kartal’ın yol göstericiliği ise hikâyeye hem bilgelik hem de masalsı bir hava katmış. Sayfalar ilerledikçe sadece Yakari’nin değil, kendi içimdeki çocuk tarafın da maceraya katıldığını hissettim. Kitap, doğayla uyum içinde yaşamanın, hayvanlara ve insana değer vermenin ne kadar kıymetli olduğunu çok sade ama güçlü bir şekilde aktarıyor.

Ayrıca yayınevine de özel bir teşekkür etmek gerek. Hem çeviri çok akıcı hem de baskı kalitesi harika. Sayfalar öyle kaliteli ki arkadan diğer sayfa görünmüyor, renkler capcanlı ve çizimler göz kamaştırıyor. Elinize aldığınızda basımın özenini hemen fark ediyorsunuz.

Yazardan okuduğum ilk çizgiroman olmasına rağmen kalemine hemen ısındım. Şahane bir serinin ilk adımı olduğuna eminim, devamını da mutlaka okuyacağım. Hem çocukların hem de yetişkinlerin keyifle okuyabileceği, sıcacık bir macera arıyorsanız bu kitap tam size göre. 🌿✨

The art is incredible. Derib is another in the pantheon of BD greats. He’s from Switzerland, as is the author. The sweeping landscapes are beautifully drawn with a highly expressive ink line. Very nice caricature work on some of the Indians. Nice detail on costumes. Another master of horses. Well drawn bears. A cougar, an eagle, a duck, a wolf, and dogs. All around excellent.

The color stands out in this volume as well, as it’s not a digital recolor of the sort that has marred so many reissued BD classics, but rather it’s the original paints which have a lovely organic quality. Well captured are night scenes in blues and radiant moonlight, and bright days with deeply shadowed foregrounds.

The story is simple but well done, with a seamless flow and plenty of action. The hero Yakari dreams of the great eagle, who tells the young Indian to follow his example. Yakari then embarks on a vision quest of sorts, has tons of adventures in the wild, discovers he can speak with animals, and finally returns in triumph with the indomitable horse, Little Thunder, earning the admiration of his tribe. So it’s your basic hero’s journey, told with a wholesome exuberance.

I remember reading Yakari in Swedish as a kid, and it was great fun revisiting this first album now, in English, with my seven-year-old this evening. The story is a great introduction to the character and works well to set up the series. Derib shows his great respect for and appreciation of Native American culture and history, as can be seen in much of his other comics work, certainly including his classic album series about the trapper Buddy Longway.

I am always happy when I learn about comics from around the world! Yakari is a Franco-Belgian comic that follows the adventures of a young Sioux boy who is growing up and taking his place in his tribe. Yakari has the special talent to understand and speak animal languages; this allows him to see the world from their perspective. A wonderfully 'kid' friendly book with an appreciation for Sioux culture and traditions.

Great BD for kids who love animals and nature. I remember reading this in Pif Gadget as a kid, it was fun then but a lot less fun now; I can still appreciate the art and the innocence of the stories, but it’s not a series I’ll pursue.

Czytelnicy, zwłaszcza dziecięcy, potrzebują dziś takich lektur, aby uwrażliwiać się na życie, na przyrodę, na słabszych.
Niestety musiało minąć sporo czasu, zanim także perełki jak Yakari trafiły pod polskie strzechy, ale warto było czekać...

Yakari je malý indián, ktorý sníva o tom, že bude mocný. Veľký orol je jeho priateľ, sprevádza ho dňom i nocou. Stretneme aj iné divé zvery. Pekný komix pre malých čitateľov :)

J'adore le livre, il est vraiment très chouette mais il n'y a pas beaucoup de lien entre les chapitres. (avis d'une fille de 10 ans)

Very much in the vein of Asterix, but with less slapstick humor. Considering how various ethnic groups are treated in some of the European comic albums, the tribe is treated very respectfully...other than the goofy names of a few of the tribe, but that's no worse than in Asterix.
The story itself is cute and funny, as Yakari learns to trust in himself, in addition to the tribe learning to trust him.

J'adore cette bande dessinée relatant les aventures d'un petit indien qui communique avec les animaux. On le retrouve ici dans sa première aventure où il fait la rencontre de Petit Tonnerre. J'aime beaucoup Yakari ainsi que sa façon de penser et d'agir avec les animaux. Je trouve que c'est une très bonne façon d'enseigner le respect des animaux aux enfants et en plus de cela c'est une BD drôle et intéressante.
