Another delightful Yakari album. The art is crisp and colourful, and the story is typical Yakari, revolving around friendship, compassion and love for animals. I loved these books as a little boy and I hope a new generation of children will take to these translations and maybe imbibe some of Yakari's lessons about relating to our fellow animals.
Story: **** Job is easy to read to the point where I had to constantly pause to go back a few pages and study the beauty of the art because the narrative flows with the utmost fluidity. He strands Yakari and his adorable female friend Rainbow on an island created by heavy flooding with a flock of Meese and a wolverine. Their teamwork with the former against the latter is interesting and action packed with a guest appearance of a funny ally from previous tomes.
Art: **** Standard Derib excellence. This album provided him the opportunity to craft ariel views of large swaths of land which he populated accurately and interestingly. Then, his moose family and especially the wolverine were especially good representations with great personality drawn into their countenances.
