About this author

ELIZABETH WINTHROP is the author of over sixty works of fiction for all ages.

Her most recent picture book, MAIA AND THE MONSTER BABY, with illustrations by Amanda Haley was published by Holiday House. TWINS, a picture book for toddlers with illustrations by Jane Massey, will be released by Two Lions/Amazon in 2015.

Writing as Elizabeth Winthrop Alsop, she has just published an ebook memoir piece entitled DON'T KNOCK UNLESS YOU'RE BLEEDING, Growing up in Cold War Washington. Her work in progress, another memoir about her childhood, is entitled THE CHILDREN OF SPIES.

The daughter of the journalist, Stewart Alsop,she divides her time between New York City and the Berkshires.

Like so many others in the last week, I’ve been watching the Ken Burns 7 part series on the Roosevelts. I’m familiar with most of this material on one hand, because I’ve read a number of books about my esteemed ancestors, but also because I’ve heard many of the stories from my father, my uncle and my grandmother.
